For 10 years I’ve wanted to take a self defense class. I’ve always wanted the skills, knowledge and self assurance in knowing that I could protect myself. Now that I have two girls of my own, I knew it would be even more important to learn those skills so that I can pass it along to my them.
My first interaction with Pinellas Krav Maga was 12 days after giving birth to my second daughter. Joey, the Instructor, was teaching a Women’s Self-Defense Seminar. I went to the seminar mainly for the knowledge since I knew I probably wouldn’t be able to participant too much given my condition. I was surprised in the fact that I was actually able to participant in majority of the class!
I walked away from that seminar feeling so empowered, strong and confident that I wanted to learn even more! Especially given the fact that I wasn’t at peak physical condition and I was still able to defend myself with the techniques of Krav Maga.
Pinellas Krav Maga is a trifecta for self-empowerment; it’s not only self-defense skills, it’s also very cognitive and keeps you thinking on your toes, as well as an intense physical workout. Joey infuses the class with his passion for the art. He has established a family atmosphere where a person can experience the inner desire to to improve and will therefore continue to push themselves to achieve more. I have never sweat so much in my life until Pinellas Krav Maga! Yet, I LOVE it and I look forward to every class!
Krav Maga: Get an excellent workout and learn to protect yourself at the same time! I’m a mother of a busy two year old. Free time is a precious gift that I have to spend wisely. Learning Krav Maga is the prefect way to use that time. It is the best workout I have ever had. In a one hour class I sweated so much it was dripping into my eyes. Not only did I burn major calories I learned valuable self protection techniques which could save my life.
In the first class I learned four different techniques. I must admit, as a woman, this made me feel very empowered. I could actually do this! You get plenty of practice and excellent instruction with Joey. After watching clips of Krav Maga on Youtube I was a little nervous that I would have my a** handed to me, but Joey’s classes are very encouraging and thorough. There were women and men there ranging in age from early twenties to early sixties, all of us working hard and getting the techniques down. It was an awesome experience!
I love these classes, they are truly amazing! I am always glad once I go to a class, they make me feel so energized! Joey is a instructor who brings so much energy to class that it is hard not to catch it. I went for a self-defense class, but I’ve gotten terrific so much more. It’s helping to build my confidence, build strength, and build endurance, all while learning tactics to help defend against real-world possible attacks. I want to spread the word because I think it’s so important that everybody should do it.
This class was AWESOME! It was a great workout & teaches common sense, useful, realistic skills that I can use should I ever be in a bad situation. I am definitely looking forward to taking more classes so that my responses become second nature. Joey was a great teacher… supportive, patient & intense (in a good way You can tell that he loves what he does!

Every class is really fun no matter what age you are! Not only is it fun, you also learn how to defend yourself and, you get an amazing workout as well! Krav maga was even on the NBC show The Doctors and was demonstrated to be a great way to lose weight and get in shape! I enourage everyone to come in and try it out!
I LOVE THIS FORM OF MARTIAL ARTS. IT PROVIDES CARDIO, MENTAL AND PHYSICAL STRENGTHS, FRIENDSHIPS, AND MOST OF ALL SELF DEFENSE. THE ISRAELIS CREATED THIS FORM, AND THEY ARE STILL KICKING BUTT IN THE MIDDLE EAST. THAT HAS TO SAY SOMETHING ABOUT THE DISCIPLINE. COME CHECK IT OUT AND REALIZE IT FOR YOUR SELVES.
Others should join our krav group because krav rocks! We have a great time learning practical self-defense. We are a safe training environment with positive instruction and peer support. And learning to defend yourself is empowering – not to mention an intense workout!
